Data and analytics help you run the agency. The trick is tracking the right things and not drowning in reports.
KPIs and dashboards
Operational: referrals, conversion to SOC, visits per clinician, time to RAP and final. Financial: revenue, cost per visit, denial rate. For targets and ownership, see revenue cycle KPIs. Quality: star rating, outcome measures. Start with a short list you can pull from your EHR and billing system. A simple dashboard (even a spreadsheet updated weekly) beats no data.
How to build a simple dashboard
One tab per area (ops, financial, quality). Key metrics at the top; trend over the last 4–8 weeks. Who owns each number? Review it weekly or monthly and act when something’s off. Managers who run on data keep the dashboard simple at first, add complexity only when the basics are routine. We have an analytics KPI worksheet you can download: what to track and a template to get started. Use the button below to get it.
